Mariah Carey, No Doubt To Open 2012 NFL Season

The New York Giants will battle the Dallas Cowboys at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on Wednesday, Sept. 5. In the first game of the 2012 NFL season, superstars Mariah Carey and No Doubt will perform in an hour-long pregame show that will air at 7:30 p.m. EDT on NBC.

Carey says she's thrilled to be performing in New York - which she called her hometown -- and adds she's looking forward to making the season launch "even more festive."

No Doubt drummer and New Orleans Saints fan Adrian Young says he's excited to take part, and noted that the band performed at Super Bowl XXXVII in 2003.

Carey recently released the single "Triumphant (Get `Em)." No Doubt's new album, "Push and Shove," is out Sept. 25.
